Osamu Tezuka‘s popular manga/anime “Black Jack” will be adapted into US TV series by eOne (Entertainment One). eOne is an independent studio based in Los Angeles that currently produces ABC’s Rookie Blue and distributes The Walking Dead. Furthermore, “Black Jack” will be co-produced by Taka Ichise and Doug Davison; Ichise and Davison were also responsible for Hollywood adaptation of The Ring and The Grudge.
“Black Jack” follows the adventure of a medical mercenary who cures people and charge them with absurdly high price. He is also famously known for his stitched-up face and black cape. However, despite his shady appearance, Black Jack has a good heart deep inside.
